Credits

Credits earning

You need credits for everything: developing facilities, buying ships or materials, to show off how successful you are, etc. Here are some clues on earning the credits and making the fortune:

Mine the ore

Ore mining is the most basic and yet most inefficient way to earn credits. However, while your level is a beginner, you don't have much options. You sell the ore via the DSC Miner (available in the communication center or by clicking on the ore amount in the toolbar). You need Conveyors in your mining facilities to deliver the ore you sell or buy. The more Conveyors you have, the more ore you can sell or buy at once. If you have a lot of ore to sell, you can sell it via IMF facility. It has a lower amount limit but has some advantages such as being able to sell more ore at once and it's rates are less volatile.

Pros

  • Available to beginners
  • Stable income - the mines are working unattended

Cons

  • Mining generates a lot of waste and while you have no sufficient recycling capacity, the waste will pollute your soil and your colony health level will suffer.
  • Domestic ore is quite cheap, so the income is not as good as you could hope it will be
  • Ore rate is very volatile and by the Murphy's laws it will be at cheapest just when you desperately need credits

We suggest to shut down the mining by removing most or all of the excavators as soon as you have a better source of income.

Domestic Missions (on Terra Nova)

Missions on TN are the first kind of missions for each player. They bring you the ore and credits. A fleet of Explorers can do a few missions level 1-6 before it's health is critical. Note that your fleets are not destroyed when defeated. They can be returned to base for repair.

Pros

  • Available to beginners
  • Along with ore and credits your fleets collect valuable artifacts that can be useful for your future fleets operations
  • Missions bring you some fighting experience and bring experience points for your rank to grow

Cons

  • Not very efficient in terms of time/income ratio

Missions on other planets

Once you have researched Interplanetary Jumps and got some antimatter fuel, you can send your fleets to other planets in the system and do the missions there. The key difference between domestic and interplanetary missions is that the other planets' ore is Exotic Ore for you. And Exo (as we call the Exotic ore) is magnitudes more expensive than the regular ore. Traveling between planets may take quite a long time (up to a few hours), so in order to progress quickly, you can use your fellow alliance members' support ships to unload your loot and repair/refuel your fleets. When your cargo hold is full of Exo, it is the right time to go to a support to sell the Exo and refuel. On the top of the map there are radio buttons for different map layers, by default not all layers are visible. Now, when you turn on Supports layer, the Supports fleets (light blue squares) will appear and you can click on them to see their info and/or send the fleet to them.

Supports map

Now you can click each of them and check their Exotic Ore rate. Higher is better. Then you can visit with your fleet best support and "Unship" your cargo. As soon as you can : get your own support to keep the exotic ore.

Stealth attacks (furtive)

This is the easiest and simplest way to get Credits and exotic ore. Build a fleet of pure furtive ships (9 panthers and 3 trailers) : we can provide you with ships or components. Send on K or M : read the help about furtive attacks to check the prerequisite for successfull attacks ! Then rob ore and credits to any unconnected player : higher the rank, higher the loot ! When full : unship your fleet on supports (see above concerning prices) As soon as you can : get your own support to keep the exotic ore.
